The Definition Of Kinky Sex (Sort Of)
What exactly is kinky sex? You here the term thrown around all the time, but does it actually have a stated meaning, or do people just use it to describe anything that falls outside the bounds of regular vanilla sex. As it turns out, there isn’t really an accepted definition of kinky sex because everyone has a different idea of what kinky is. However, kink is generally used to describe sexual practices that fall out of the bounds of what is considered normal, such as bondage, sadomasochism, strap-on sex, pantyhose sex, sex involving feet, and any number of other fetishes. The problem in nailing down a specific definition arises because everyone has different sexual proclivities that lead them to believe certain behaviors are completely normal.
Despite the inherent problems of defining something that is most subjective, like the idea of kinky sex, I still think you can draw a pretty clear line between what’s kinky and what’s not. If you’re a strict catholic and you’ve never had sex except with the idea of getting pregnant this discussion doesn’t apply to you, but just about everyone else is included here.
Any kind of sex that just features two people naked together in bed cannot be defined as kinky. If you’re not bringing in any outside help there’s no way I can think of to take things to a level that would bring you over into the land of kink. It’s when you start to introduce things from the outside world that you begin to delve into kinky sex. For instance, if you’re into spanking and you simply use your hands to deliver the blows I wouldn’t consider that kinky. However, if you go out and spend $75 on a jewel encrusted paddle to spank your partner with, or vice versa, you have officially crossed over into kinky sex. It’s really a matter of how invested you are in the idea. If you like pantyhose it wouldn’t be kinky to have your lover wear them while you have sex. However, if you make her cover her entire body in pantyhose, head and arms included, you’ve crossed the border into kinky sex.
In addition to the idea of becoming too obsessed with a particular sexual activity there are certain sexual preferences that automatically put you into the kinky category. One of the largest areas of kinky sex involves the infliction of pain for sexual pleasure. This is generally accepted to be outside the bounds of normalcy, especially when you involve various tools of the trade like whips, chains, hot wax and nipple clamps. When any of these instruments are involved pain infliction instantly enters the kinky sex category. Some people enjoy being urinated on or defecated on, which without question qualifies them as kinky sex lovers. Other automatically kinky sexual behaviors include diaper fetishism, body piercing fetishism, obsession with lactating women, and extensive play with semen. Some fetishes, like ones concentrating on lingerie or leather, don’t fall into the kinky sex category because they are so widely accepted by society. In truth, it’s really society at large that determines what is kinky and what isn’t. If a majority of people accept or practice a particular behavior themselves then it is no longer kinky. Perhaps in the future there will be no such thing as kinky sex because we’ll all be so open and accepting of everyone’s particular desires.
